Message From The Teacher-in-Charge

Bankura Christian College (estd. 1903) has carved out its niche as a premier institution in the state of West Bengal and the country as a whole. It has achieved its due recognition from NAAC in securing A grade in three successive cycles, in 2013 (2nd Cycle), 2019 (3rd Cycle) and 2025 (4th Cycle) of accreditation and getting recognized as College with the Potential for Excellence (CPE) twice by the UGC.

Its focus on academic and co-curricular outreach activities and community engagement through NCC and NSS and other cells/units has enabled the college to further enhance its qualitative output and serve society in a meaningful way with its rich alumni and 123 years' heritage is something.

The alumni include scientists, corporate icons, academic and civil administrators, business tycoons, writers, celebrities, sports personalities, and what not. With an enviable rate of progression to higher studies in reputed institutions like IITs, IIMs, NITs, and Central Universities, the college can boast of its academic excellence and its commitment to quality education.

Presently the college is on the threshold of autonomy from the UGC and the entire college family is gearing up for that. But we have a long way to go and explore further avenues for quality enhancement.

We have to carry forward this rich legacy and academic and cultural heritage further in the days to come. As an alumnus and presently as the Teacher-in-Charge of the college I have the responsibility to unite the work force, the human resources, and move ahead with the cooperation of all the stakeholders.
